Jane Rulon began teaching piano privately in 1991.  She earned her Teaching Cerficate in Piano Pedagogy from Jordan College of Fine Arts at Butler University where she studied piano at the principal level with piano professor Jenny Mobley.  The Butler Pedagogy Review published Mrs. Rulon's article, "Marking Patterns in Written Music with Young Students" in 2007. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, where she was a pianist and violinist with the Purdue University Symphony Orchestra. 
     


Mrs. Rulon has served on the Executive Board of The Indianapolis Piano Teachers' Association for five years.  In 1998 she was appointed as the State Composition Chairman by the Indiana Federation of Music Clubs, a position that she held for two years.  Jane has adjudicated multiple times for the Indiana Junior Festival of Music, and Achievement in Music.  A member of Mu Phi Epsilon music sorority Kappa Chapter, Mrs. Rulon was a counselor at Butler University's Summer Piano Camp under the direction of Karen Thickstun in 1997 and 1998.
